Description
Hondaafushi Island Resort runs a variety of excursions per day including half day snorkeling adventures, night fishing while watching the sun set. We also visit the local villages surrounding Hondaafushi Island Resort each week to give you an insight on how the Maldivian people live in this beautiful paradise. Our guest relation officers can assist you with any questions or you can take a look at the excursion board in the arrival lobby.

Historical Utheemu
Utheemu is famed as the birthplace of Sultan Mohamed Thakurufaanu, who with his brothers and his companions fought an eight-year-long war to drive out the Portuguese invaders who occupied the Maldives from 1558 to 1573. Utheemu Ganduvaru is the wooden palace in which Sultan Mohamed Thakurufaanu lived and grew up. It is well preserved and evokes more than any other existing building in the Maldives, the lifestyle of the rich, centuries ago.
Night Fishing
Every Saturday & Thursday nights
Departure from reception at 17:30hrs and returns at 19:30hrs
Fish caught can be cooked by our chefs for you on the next day for lunch or for dinner in the main restaurant, free of charge. The fish can also be served in the Sunset Restaurant at an additional rate of $15.00 US per person. Additional food is not included in this rate.
Recreation
We have a library, billiards and 24-hour air-conditioned gym as well as board games, table tennis, darts, beach volleyball and football.
